We have measured how many lives were lost as travelers responded to the events of 9/11 by switching from air transportation to road transportation. After controlling for observable and unobservable factorsthat influence fatalities, we estimate that about 2,170 lives were lost because of travelers’response to 9/11. 論文はざっとしか読んでないけれど、回帰の推定式に説明変数としてガソリン価格とか失業率とか同時に突っ込んでいいのだろうか、という疑問はある。
